Queen Alaska – UNDER MY SKIN

Composer, producer, vocalist and audiovisual artist Anneli Bentler uses analogue synthesizers, drum machines, vocal cuttings and her fine sense for harmonic structures to bring into being an eclectic landscape of sounds called: Queen Alaska.

Queen Alaska – UNDER MY SKIN

Her electronic, spherical pop songs have their roots in classical music and score music, which she combines with modern productions, sound design and songwriting. Influences in a range from Steve Reich to Niki and the Dove bring to life accessible yet complex songs, fragile yet powerful, dreamy yet danceable. 808 tom fills, originally sounds from the techno culture, suddenly feel like pizzicato strings. The arrangement of the many synth layers generates the impact of a classical orchestra. In this way, Queen Alaskas music is art and pop at the same time.

The name Queen Alaska associates with the width, beauty and clarity of a magnificent, majestic landscape. Its bright colours and reflections of mountains in a deep lake convey the impression of inner peace and unwavering strength at the same time. The northern lights are a miracle that makes you feel closer to the universe than to earth. Queen Alaska sits enthroned above the everyday world and personifies these sensual associations.

Anneli Bentler creates the graphics and videos on her own, in order to translate the abstract world into a holistic, audiovisual concept.

you creep under my skin, under my skin, and in my bones
like damp, under my skin, under my skin, and in my bones
go away or come closer just don’t stay in my imagination

you dance into my soul, into my search, you dance on my flesh
you seed into my ground, into my wound, you- you-
go away or come closer just don’t stay in my imagination
