The album ‘Fade to Shade’, independently recorded and edited after a successful crowdfunding campaign by Nicole Eitner, is foreseen to be launched in Oktober 2014. Nicole Eitner is Portuguese/German and has lived in Portugal for many years. Together with musicians Alexandre Frazão (drums) and Miguel Menezes (double-bass and vocals) and João Gomes (synthesizers) they form the group Nicole Eitner and The Citizens. Pianist, author, composer and vocalist, her first album with her name – Vampires – edited in 2007, has the participation of violinist Viviena Tupikova and double-bass player Zeca Neves and was presented at the Naked Festival at Santiago O Alquimista.
In 2009 Nicole shared the stage with Suzanne Vega in Sintra and participated in the Texas SXSW Festival where she won 1st prize, a chance to record at the Elvis Presley’s emblematic Sun Studios in Memphis. In 2011, already with The Citizens, Nicole edits her second album ‘I Am You’ and performs as supprot act of Joan As Police Woman’s tour in Portugal. In that same year Nicole won the Midem Off Showcase Competition (voted by fans) and played in Cannes. The music ‘Witness of Your Life’ won the International SongDoor Songwriting Competition (USA) prize in the ‘Pop Songs’ category and the position of semi-finalist in the 2012 UK Songwriting Contest.
