Laurel – Memorials

Laurel – Memorials. Pop singer-songwriter Laurel has unshackled her new slinky synth-led number “Memorials”, taken from her forthcoming Holy Water EP. The South Coast artist has been hailed as an impending chart-bothering tour de force, and this slice of blissy electro heaven doesn’t do much to dissuade that notion. Laurel is a shining example of the amazing talent that call the shores of Britain home. The twenty year old rising star returns to the fold with her second EP Holy Water, which is scheduled for release December 15th. It’s often difficult for new artists to live up to the dizzying hype their debut record generated but in the case of Laurel it looks like we needn’t worry. Following a sold-out headline London gig and a busy summer on the festival circuit, Laurel reasserts her brilliance with a new track entitled Memorials.

Laurel - Memorials

The first piece of material to surface from her forthcoming Holy Water EP, the track is another resonantly downtempo affair, with dark electronic foundations given a further ominous edge from Laurel’s impassioned vocal delivery and a slow-burning intensity delivered from the crisp production.

Laurel – Memorials

Laurel – Memorials Lyrics:
Say you waited for me
Didn’t know you did
Oh say I didn’t lie
Cause I didn’t
breaking up, the screaming of our love
I care too much,
I care to much
Is it just the way you are
Is it just the way we are
CHORUS:
he don’t he don’t believe me and
my young soul, is sold to his heart,
he don’t, maybe he don’t love me, love me
I’ll sin with you, it’s a ceremony of you only
but now I’m singing memorials
all through my teenage righteousness
I miss you most
and missing you, really has no purpose
but I still do it
The older I get
The more I learn,
That you aren’t mine
At the end of time
CHORUS:
he don’t he don’t believe me and
my young soul, is sold to his heart,
he don’t, maybe he don’t love me, love me
I’ll sin with you, it’s a ceremony of you only
but now I’m singing memorials
I come, open wide for you
Got no calm collected cause this
Overdue
CHORUS:
he don’t he don’t believe me and
my young soul, is sold to his heart,
he don’t, maybe he don’t love me, love me
I’ll sin with you, it’s a ceremony of you only
but now I’m singing memorials
