Dominique Toney – Loving You’s So Easy

Dominique Toney‘s musical journey began at the age of 6 when she started playing piano at the acclaimed Colburn School of Music in Downtown Los Angeles. Ironically, it wasn’t until she was a senior at New York University that she learned she loved writing music. As the daughter of Kevin Toney, original member of the Grammy-nominated funk group “The Blackbyrds” and Phyllis Toney, wardrobe supervisor to such artists as Diana Ross, Paul McCartney, and Sting, Dominique was exposed to music at a very young age. Some favorite memories growing up include dancing in Paul McCartney’s 2005 concert at the Staples Center and sitting in on a business meeting with Berry Gordy. During her freshman year, she discovered that she had vocal nodules and would be required to get surgery to remove the nodes. With her position at school in jeopardy, she quickly determined that she would do anything to continue her studies at NYU. She took a leave of absence from her Musical Theater program, went on vocal rest for 2 months, and got surgery that summer. Through patience and a team of vocal teachers and speech therapists, she was back to full health 8 months later. Having had the opportunity to perform at such venues as the House of Blues, Morongo Casino, Rockwood Music Hall, the Highline Ballroom, Yoshi’s Jazz Club, and Joe’s Pub, Dominique is excited to release her debut album “A Love Like Ours” on August 12th, 2014.

Dominique Toney – Loving You’s So Easy (New Mastered Edition)

Dominique Toney – Loving You’s So Easy Lyrics:
Intro: I’m not the girl who gets the guy
Never have been, and who cares why
I’ve come to terms with how to be
A happy single human being
But here you are, 6 feet tall
Hazel eyes, you have my heart
And this is where the story starts

Verse 1: The first few weeks I stumbled through
I couldn’t believe you were mine, but it’s true. It’s true.
My reality must have been playin’ games
When I did become such a lucky dame
I could not have asked for more

Chorus: I’ll never let a day go by
I count my stars every night
I’ll never know how or why
But lovin you’s so easy

I’ll never let a day go by
I count my stars every night
I’ll never know how or why
But loving you’s so easy

Verse 2: My days of doubt have disappeared
For the first time in my life, I don’t fear. I don’t fear
That if you knew the half of me
Would you sit in disbelief?
And if I showed, you my flaws
Would you even love me at all?
Love me at all

Chorus: I’ll never let a day go by
I count my stars every night
I’ll never know how or why
But lovin you’s so easy

I’ll never let a day go by
I count my stars every night
I’ll never know how or why
But lovin you’s so easy

Breakdown: How are we working so seamlessly?
oh yea, cause loving’s you is easy
oh yea, loving you is easy
oh yea, loving you is easy
loving you is easy
to you, I deeply belong
oooooo, yeahhhhh
Outro: Loving you’s so easy for me
I’ll never let a day go by, I count my stars every night.
