Holiday Sidewinder – Carousel

Named from the Truman Capote novel ‘Breakfast At Tiffany’s’, she was born the love child of a teen actress and a set builder, among a family of film & music industry. She was accepted in to The Newtown Performing Arts High School for Drama, and at the ripe old age of 13 began a career writing, performing, recording and touring. Her band ‘Bridezilla’ released a self-titled EP (2007) and then a full length album ‘The First Dance’ (2009) to critical acclaim, which led them to play the Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds curated All Tomorrow’s Parties festival, The Flaming Lips curated All Tomorrow’s Parties festival (New York) , as well as support slots for Stephen Malkmus (Pavement), Interpol, Wilco, Belle & Sebastian, The Dirty Three and John Cale (Velvet Underground). At 19 she flirted with the academic study of theology, philosophy and ancient history, and co-founded a subversive underground lecture and performance based entity called ‘The Decadent Society’. In 2011, Sidewinder developed a specialized show for Revelation International Film Festival & Sydney Festival entitled ‘Wild At Heart – A Night of Lynchian Delight’, performing soundtrack titles from ‘Wild At Heart’, ‘Eraserhead’, ‘Blue Velvet’, ‘Fire Walk With Me’ & ‘Twin Peaks’. She is currently writing her debut solo record ‘Valentine’, a conceptual collection of pop songs with undertones of gospel, country, 60s girl groups & 80s balladry. Her backing band The Dream Team – a collection of the most thrilling, virtuous and promising young Ronnie Scott’s jazz cats.
