Chelsea Effect: Youth In 21

Chelsea Effect takes its name from the legendary Hotel Chelsea in New York City, which has hosted artistic visionaries for over a century. Everyone from Bob Dylan and Janis Joplin to Allen Ginsberg and Dylan Thomas, not only stayed at the Hotel Chelsea, but also created artistic movements that have inspired generations. Arthur Miller wrote a piece entitled “The Chelsea Affect” that described life in the Hotel during the 1960’s and the effect it had on pop culture.

Chelsea Effect: Youth In 21

Chelsea Effect: Youth In 21 Lyrics:
Sun gets in our eyes
Beautiful scars show we have survived
Time’s still on our side
This is the story
Of a beautiful lie

And I’ll tell you what you want to hear
Cause I give a shit my dear
Lying here out on the sand

And you put your finger to my lips
Take too much away from this
Taking everything that we can

And the music played on
Every note became our song
Melting into each other
As we watched the rising sun
We were youth in ‘21

Time cannot erase, All of the beauty
Can’t be replaced
And the world will always change
But there’s a constant, Our love remains

Cause you tell me what I want to hear
Cause you give a shit my dear
Watching as the snow hits the ground
And the wind blows strong into the lights
You are kissing me good night
Only with you then I am found

And the music played on
(We can talk it over)
Every note became our song
(We were crossing over)
Melting into each other
As we watched the rising sun
We were youth in ‘21

We had lobster, On the Riviera
We drank Champagne
Somewhere In the Alps
He was wearing snakeskin boots
I was someone else, Sex and drugs
My hands your mouth
I swear to God you drove me wild
Our love goes on and on

And the music played on
(We can talk it over)
Every note became our song
(We were crossing over)
Melting into each other
As we watched the rising sun
We were youth in ‘21
