Minnesota native Cobi Mike has been a familiar face to pop fans who know him as vocalist and guitarist with the band Gentlemen Hall. He’s now going solo with debut single “Walking Through the Fire,” from Cobi Mike’s forthcoming self-titled EP. The EP will also include “First Snow,” a song written this winter in Minnesota. Gentlemen Hall were formed several years ago at Boston’s Berklee College of Music; they found rapid success in Boston, earning a 2009 Video Music Award for Best Breakout Boston Artist and a 2010 nod from the Boston Phoenix as best new local act. National success followed, including a performance on the 2011 Billboard Awards and a 2014 tour that had them sharing stages with the likes of Beyoncé and Cee Lo Green.
Cobi Mike is happy to announce the release of his first single “Walking Through the Fire”. Teaming up with keyboardist Maria Fitzgerald (Hozier), Cobi Mike seems to effortlessly combine acoustic and electronic elements for a style all his own. The song takes you on his personal journey of self discovery while the lyrics and melodies paint a colorful scene of the road less traveled. The track is only a glimpse of what is to come from the highly anticipated EP of heartfelt and authentic songs with an emotional rawness.
“Walking Through the Fire is about embracing the changes in life. Only by accepting and going through the pain can real growth occur. The music video depicts hallucinations, each one representing a different challenge on the path to self discovery.”

Cobi Mike – Walking Through the Fire Lyrics:
You won’t find me, I’m walking through the fire
You can’t find me, I’m walking through the fire
The human that you are, that you are
Go through life stumbling on the road that you walk
You find your way, you find your way
There’s something that you are, that you are
Something that is deeper than the words that you talk
You find your way, you find your way
There’s so much of the world to see
That nobody can take it all
But I don’t want to waste away
They always try to keep me on the line all the time
They try to keep me on the line, lost my mind
You won’t find me, I’m walking through the fire
You can’t find me, I’m walking through the fire
Remember the other time that you walk
Always getting closer to the life that you want
It’s far away, far away
Don’t listen to the words that they talk
You’re the only one who walks that path that you walk
You found your way, you found your way
There’s so much of the world to see
That nobody can take it all
But I don’t want to waste away
They always try to keep me on the line, all the time
They try to keep me on the line, lost my mind
You won’t find me, I’m walking through the fire
You can’t find me, I’m walking through the fire
Now the sun may burn your eyes
Let the stars become your guide
This may be the darkest time
Let the stars become your guide
Now the sun may burn your eyes (I’m walking through the fire)
Let the stars become your guide
This may be the darkest time (I’m walking through the fire)
Let the stars become your guide
You won’t find me (Now the sun may burn your eyes)
I’m walking through the fire (Let the stars become your guide)
You can’t find me (This may be the darkest time)
I’m walking through the fire (Let the stars become your guide
