McGonigle & Gladstone: You Walked Away

McGonigle & Gladstone: “We have a deep love for music, and are focused on success with no limitations as to where it leads us. We started our music duo in January 2014 after meeting through Facebook. Michael McGonigle is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Suzanne Gladstone is originally from San Diego, California. The original plan was to learn some cover songs and play some shows to hone our craft together. After only a couple practices Suzanne made it clear she wanted to work on original music, since she has been writing since she was 14. Suzanne had written a song called “I Can’t Forget Your Name” and Michael agreed to compose some music for it. After ironing out a melody and practicing, the song was soon completed. At that time, we both realized we had something special together. After only a couple months we had written 13 original songs, and were already planning to go into the studio to complete them. Then, a little over a year later we completed 5 original songs in a professional studio; “Edge of Love”, “Is Love Really Blind”, “I Can’t Forget Your Name”, “You Walked Away” and “Last On The List”.” ♪♫♪

McGonigle & Gladstone: You Walked Away

McGonigle & Gladstone: You Walked Away Lyrics:
What if I what if I said I couldn’t let you go
What if I’d stopped you that day
from walking out the door

Oh, what if I could find a way
for you to fall for me
Couldn’t hold you down
so I let you be free

What if I told you baby that I love you so
Would anything change if I had let you know

If you could read my mind
you’d know what I say is true
No other captures my heart
the way that you do

You walked away and left me on the line
Picking up the pieces of my life
I never thought this day would come
When you would say goodbye
Now it’s time to roll back the night

My heart stopped beating
the moment you said goodbye
Why’d you leave me here
on my knees to cry?

If I’d told you sooner
would you still have let me go
You were there by my side
now I stand alone

You walked away and left me on the line
Picking up the pieces of my life
I never thought this day would come
When you would say goodbye
Now it’s time to roll back the night

(Bridge) – Harmony
I’ll never know, you’ll never see
You’ll never know that part of me
(Normal Key)
Though my heart breaks more each day
Said “please don’t go” and you walked away

What if I what if I said
I couldn’t let you go
What if I’d stopped you that day
from walking out the door

Oh, what if I could find a way
for you to fall for me
Couldn’t hold you down
so I let you be free

You walked away and left me on the line
Picking up the pieces of my life
I never thought this day would come
When you would say goodbye
Now it’s time to roll back the night
