May – Sunday Night

Signed to Columbia Records, prodigious chanteuse, MAY, has been heralded as “One of the hottest things to see, hear and read” by Harper’s Bazaar. With her celestial voice and hauntingly beautiful melodies, the Australian musical talent returns home this Spring to release her brand new single, Sunday Night.
‘Sunday Night’, written by MAY and produced by The RAah Project’s Ryan Ritchie, was inspired by a fleeting rendezvous that ignited a vivid sense of passion and liberation.

The song has already garnered rave reviews, with Triple J’s Lachie Macara describing it as “A-Grade Cinematic Pop”, and Rosie Beaton pronouncing it“Sensational.” Based in New York at the time, MAY travelled to Detroit to shoot the film clip for Sunday Night with co-star Samuel Larsen (Glee). The derelict warehouses, buildings and churches and icy climate were deemed by the artist as perfect backdrops for the evanescent love tale.

May – Sunday Night

The video for “Sunday Night” was filmed in the most derelict parts of Detroit and features two lovers (MAY and co-star Samuel Larson of “Glee“) spending a day together, fully engrossed in their love as if the world around them in it’s damned state did not exist. The song alone makes quite an impression but the video truly helps tell the story.

May – Sunday Night Lyrics:
May – Sunday Night Lyrics
Oh God, I haven’t felt so good
I never loved someone like I should
Your eyes, they relieve light even under the water
You are just like gold
Was it a way, I just starred you down
From the corner of a dark and lonely room
I had adepts under the blue light
Like I didn’t care about nobody else but you
Take me down to the clovers
All cause you know I’m your girl and all
CHORUS:
Lay me down
Feel my scars
Sunday night
Won’t you come?
Oh God, I haven’t felt so good
I never loved someone like I should
Take me down to the clovers
I never seen them before
Tho I’ve been far
Am I in time, am I in time?
Is all over, all over
I will wait, remember the night
When you held me in your arms
Won’t you come again?
CHORUS:
Lay me down
Feel my scars
Sunday night
Won’t you come?
Won’t you come again?
CHORUS:
Lay me down
Feel my scars
Lay me down
Sunday night
Won’t you come?
Oh God, I haven’t felt so good
I never loved someone like I should.
