Maryann Vasquez – Priscilla’s Song

Maryann Vasquez is an American singer-songwriter from Providence, RI. Born to Dominican parents Vasquez was brought up with an array of musical influences including Juan Luis Guerra, Luis Miguel and Mana as well as American artists such as Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. “Those artists were my heroes”, says Maryann. “They were everything I wanted to be and so I pretended to be them, brush in hand!”. With such vast musical influence Vasquez’s musical approach extends from Latin Soul to Indie Pop. Her soothing vocals and indie influence are reminiscent of Lykke Li with the playful edginess of Rihanna, Maryann’s musical style has been compared to many but she is a lane of her own. Since starting her career in 2009 Vasquez’s songwriting efforts have landed her several placements in film and music including an undisclosed German Film. After recently signing a Recording Contract with Hip Hop Frat House/Pro Star, Vasquez has relocated to Los Angeles where she is crafting her debut EP.
