Lyle Divinsky – Rich

Lyle Divinsky, a.k.a. The Sasquatch of Soul, “doesn’t front: he sings soul and R&B, and that’s that. There are no tags or modifiers needed: his music is pure and honest. His focus is so spectacular that his originals sound like instant classics…” (Todd Richard, The Portland Phoenix). Hailing from Portland, ME, Divinsky moved to the delicious apple just over 3 years ago, and has been crooning his way into the hearts and hips of the 5 boroughs since. With a new album on the way featuring some of the baddest musicians in soul behind him, there’s no limit to how far this Sasquatch will go. To quote NYC blogger/music aficionado, Sami Promisloff, “Lyle Divinsky is the minister of soul and master of babymaking music for ALL TIME… and scene.”

Lyle Divinsky - Rich

The past 3 years have brought Lyle Divinsky from subway platforms to elite stages with living legends. This unsuspecting soul man continues to prove that he owns any stage that he walks his bare feet onto. His powerful presence brings love and light to even the most sterile crowd. Lyle has been featured on national television as one of FuseTV’s artists to watch and was awarded the Songwriters Hall of Fame Abe Olman Scholarship (of which John Legend received in 2002). In 2014, Divinsky brought together an all-star team of soul music’s rising stars for his highly anticipated full-length release due this May. Producer/bass extraordinaire Calvin Turner (Raphael Saadiq, Joe Cocker, Trombone Shorty), prodigal multi-instrumentalist Louis Cato (John Scofield, Marcus Miller, Bobby McFarrin), rising soul superstar/pianist Nigel Hall (Lettuce, Soulive, Warren Haynes), and songwriter/guitar god-in-training Adam Agati (Marcus Miller, Ludacris, Marc Broussard), were brought together along with some special guests and the best horns and strings Nashville has to offer. Divinsky, aka the Sasquatch of Soul, is the barefoot, boisterous, big-voiced Mainer who “doesn’t front: he sings soul and R&B, and that’s that. There are no tags or modifiers needed.” (Todd Richard, The Portland Phoenix).

Lyle Divinsky – Rich

Lyle Divinsky – Rich Lyrics:
It’s an uphill battle when life keeps throwing boulders
Just want to the load to lighten up while we gettin’ older
But you stand strong, and keep love on your side
Smiles all the while though you’re hurting inside

You see angels, may come in disguise
The tears are gonna prove to be the cheers in time
Embracing the struggle, hand-in-hand
A strong superwoman with a rock of a man

Money’s getting hard, battles of health
But love is gonna prove we got unlimited wealth
Money’s getting hard, battles of health
But this love is gonna prove we got unlimited wealth
Cause…

Chorus (x2):
(We Rich) Oh cause we got each other
(We Rich) Loving parents, sons and daughters
(We Rich) In the face of it all we sing
If we stand strong together we can do anything

…Ain’t it a beautiful sign
Ain’t no limit to what we can do with our powers combined
We gone work hard together, got each other forever
If we hold on strong we gon’ make it through whatever

You got a problem, you just come to me
No judgment involved, I’ll listen happily
And I know, if I’m feeling beat down or low
You gone be there for me like I was there before

Even if money is hard, and we got battles of health
This love is gonna prove we got unlimited wealth
Oh if the money is hard, and we got battles of health
This love is gonna prove we got unlimited wealth, Cause…
(We Rich) Oh cause we got each other
(We Rich) Loving parents, sons and daughters
(We Rich) In the face of it all we sing
If we stand strong together we can do anything

Cause this L-O-V-E gonna get us through
Cause you got me, and I got you
Oh this L-O-V-E gonna get us through
Cause you got me, and I got you
