Little Boots – Better In The Morning

Little Boots formed in 2007 as a solo vehicle for Victoria Hesketh, the ex-lead singer/keyboardist of English dance-pop outfit Dead Disco. Hesketh’s first single under the new pseudonym was “Stuck on Repeat,” an infectious club hit produced by Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard that arrived on limited-edition 12″ white-label vinyl. Released in early 2008, it was followed in August by the limited-edition 7″ “Meddle,” again produced by Goddard with help from Greg Kurstin of the Bird and the Bee. Little Boots’ full-length debut, Hands, arrived in 2009 and peaked at number five on the U.K. Albums Chart. It was followed later in the year by the Illuminations EP.

Hands arrived in the United States on March 2, 2010 and she embarked on a U.S. tour — including an appearance at Coachella — to promote the album Stateside. In 2011, she put out a mixtape entitled Shake Until Your Heart Breaks and took to DJing the material at clubs worldwide, and a year later another mixtape, Into the Future, appeared. Hesketh’s second full-length record, Nocturnes, was released in 2013 and featured production from a host of guests, including Simian Mobile Disco’s James Ford and Hercules & Love Affair’s Andy Butler. In 2014, Hesketh delivered the the EP Business Pleasure, featuring the single “Taste It.”

Little Boots – Better In The Morning

“The album’s inspired by my journey from the beginning to the present, where I am essentially CEO of my own business and run an independent label,” Little Boots says via press release. “It’s also fun and empowering to turn the traditional associations of ‘working girl’ on their head.”

Little Boots – Better In The Morning Lyrics:
Lyrics to Better In The Morning
Do-do-do-do, do-do-do
Do-do-do, do-do-do
Do-do-do-do, do-do-do
Do-do-do, do-do-do
Do-do-do-do, do-do-do
Do-do-do, do-do-do
Do-do-do-do, do-do-do
Do-do-do, do-do-do

Stars are drowning in the sky,
They know that we are waiting
Moon says to the sun goodbye
I guess I’ll catch you later
People are just waking up
But I can’t stop the yawning
Fasten up my coat,
It’s always better in the morning!

Trying to remember, but the night already fades
Lost track of the time, I never meant to make you wait
Even though you weren’t around,
My phone says you were calling
Try to shake it off,
It’s always better in the morning!

It’s always better,
So much better in the morning
It’s always better,
So much better in the morning

Make it better in the morning
I hope we can still be friend
Make it better in the morning
Can we start over again

I can still hear music if I stop and close my eyes
No one seems to notice that the sky is turning white
Think I’ll take the long way,
I know that I am stalling
There’ll be trouble but,
It’s always better in the morning!

Do-do-do-do, do-do-do
Do-do-do, do-do-do
Do-do-do-do, do-do-do
Do-do-do, do-do-do

It’s always better,
So much better in the morning
It’s always better,
So much better in the morning
Make it better in the morning
I hope we can still be friend
Make it better in the morning
Can we start over again?!
Make it better in the morning
I hope we can still be friend
Make it better in the morning
Can we start over again?!

Do-do-do-do, do-do-do
Do-do-do, do-do-do
(So much better in the morning)
Do-do-do-do, do-do-do
Do-do-do, do-do-do
(So much better in the morning)
Do-do-do-do, do-do-do
Do-do-do, do-do-do
(So much better in the morning)
Do-do-do-do, do-do-do
Do-do-do, do-do-do
(So much better in the morning)

It’s always better,
So much better in the morning
It’s always better,
So much better in the morning!
