Linnea Dale – High Hopes

Linnea Dale took part in a televised talent show, and captured a nation with her distinctive voice at the tender age of 16. She went on to be an integral part of pop-sensation donkeyboy, by lending her vocals to #1 hits Ambitions and Sometimes, two tracks that went on to sell more than 20x platinum. At 20 Linnea is ready to go it alone, with a sun filled, Americana-tinted, debut album named for the Echo Park, Los Angeles, street where the studio was located. Produced by BigBang bandmates Øystein Greni and Nikolai Eilertsen, the album is timeless, yet modern, and clearly proves Linnea’s talent as a songwriter and lyricist of what she herself describes as organic pop. Critics described first taste, Children of The Sun EP, as “rock solid”, “dark”, “full of promise”, “sensual”, “dramatic” and “distinctive”. For the upcoming album we would add “captivating” and “authentic”, but would rather let you make your own mind up by listening to Lemoyne Street.

Linnea Dale – High Hopes (Official Video)

Linnea Dale – High Hopes Lyrics:
Been running through the streets all night
Through the streets just to meet you
Then so we find that for tonight
Through the dark just to meet you

I got high hopes, mmm
Love me, love me, love me, love me not
I got high hopes, mmm
Love me, love me

But you’re heartless, I’m broken and things keep repeating all over
Like the sun hits the moon, casts a shadow over you

You call me up, it’s been a while
Say “Hello, wanna come over?”
You said “It’s been a long, long time”
Say “Hello, wanna come over?”

I got high hopes, mmm
Love me, love me, love me, love me not
I got high hopes, mmm
Love me, love me

But you’re heartless, I’m broken and things keep repeating all over
Like the sun hits the moon, casts a shadow over you
Yes, it’s hopeless, you picture the end before we even started
And afraid that this love curse will keep coming back at you

Ooh…
Again and again and again and again

The first time I spoke your name, they said that’s a bad, bad idea
I guess they all knew and tried to warn me ’bout you, but I just have to
I just had you

But you’re heartless, I’m broken and things keep repeating all over
Like the sun hits the moon, casts a shadow over you
Yes, it’s hopeless, you picture the end before we even started
And afraid that this love curse will keep coming back at you.
