She is also a member in Vancouver based reggae band Natural Flavas, and has performed alongside legends such as Ken Boothe, Leroy Sibbles, Barrington Levy, and Toots and the Maytals. Other internationally acclaimed artists Kristie has performed with include Shaggy, Easy Star All Stars, Kae Sun, Taj Weekes and Adowa, and Steele. This is a new beginning for Kristie McCracken. She will be releasing her first full length solo album in May 2015, simply titled “Let Go & Grow”. The album showcases her vocal talent but also hints at the breadth of her songwriting – ranging from heavily latin influenced acoustic numbers like “Lullaby”, a song written to her brother while he struggled with addiction, to the neo-soul and even vintage soul sounds of “Retrograde” and “Where Are You”. The album is produced by Patrick Watson Quine of Watson Unlimited Music, and features a song co-written and produced by 3-time Grammy award winner Chin Injeti. It’s a strong first step into the market, sure to make an impression.

This song is inspired by all ages and walks of life, and the willingness to learn and grow. I am joined on my dad’s sailboat with friends and family in False Creek, Vancouver BC. “If you give me your ears and let me tell you that you’re never too old to make mistakes and grow. If you give me your eyes and let me show you that the world is full of possibility. If you give me your heart and let me love you the best that I know how.”

Kristie McCracken: Lullaby Lyrics:
I have walked a many road to know that
There are too many to conquer alone
And I have talked a many conversation
To know that actions speak louder than words

So if you give me your ears and let me tell you
That you’re never too old to make mistakes and grow
If you give me your eyes and let me show you
That the world is full of possibility
If you give me your heart and let me love you
The best that I know how

When you realize that all the windows
Of opportunity are open for you
And all you have to do is climb up higher
And the universe will pull you through

So if you give me your ears and let me tell you
That you’re never too old to make mistakes and grow
If you give me your eyes and let me show you
That the world is full of possibility
If you give me your heart and let me love you
The best that I know how

I’m not trying to tell you that I
Know it all and you should do as I say
I’m only offering a new perspective
To open your mind and show a new way

So if you give me your ears and let me tell you
That you’re never too old to make mistakes and grow
If you give me your eyes and let me show you
That the world is full of possibility
If you give me your heart and let me love you
The best that I know how
