Jacq Becker: Nautical

On a warm sunrise in Southern California, Jacqueline Becker is awake, gently sipping on a tall mug of Turkish Coffee held close to her head in contemplation… “Sometimes I wish I lived in a dreary place not because I’m a dreary person, it inspires a different melancholy. I’m just drawn to that music, sad kinda like mellow, chill, you can play it whatever mood your in, it kinda fits and sits… and its hard to do that when its 90 degrees and super sunny. Bring in the clouds man!”

She doesn’t really regret her environment; which helped her evolve from a big-haired 8-year old girl channeling raw Mo Town classics in the family car along the cassette player, to a smoky soprano with hints of jazz and soul, topped off by a distinct mellow vibe attributed to none other than Southern California.

Wanderlust would draw her away to Europe, where her silky vocals rained gently upon historic cities such as Florence, Rome and London. Her time spent performing in the old world humbled her greatly. It also influenced and solidified a desire to create music that conveys the bliss of timelessness. Currently based in Los Angeles, her collaborations with talented songwriters are based on “vibe” and have inspired a style that draws you on the edge of sophisticated pop. She continues to develop and polish her craft, preparing for a strong debut with the potential of igniting a feeling that cannot be put out.
