Guns N’ Roses – Yesterdays

Yesterdays” is a power ballad and the third track on the Guns N’ Roses album Use Your Illusion II. It was written by Axl Rose, West Arkeen, Del James and Billy McCloud. This song is featured in the 2004 compilation Greatest Hits. The song peaked at #72 on the Billboard Hot 100. Use Your Illusion II is the fourth studio album by Hard Rock band Guns N’ Roses. It was one of two albums released in conjunction with the Use Your Illusion Tour, and as a result the two albums are sometimes seen together as a double album. Bolstered by the lead single “You Could Be Mine”, Use Your Illusion II was the slightly more popular of the two albums, selling 770,000 copies in its first week and debuting at #1 on the U.S. charts, ahead of Use Your Illusion I’s first week sales of 685,000. Use Your Illusion II is Guns N’ Roses best selling album in the U.S., having sold 5,587,000 units as of March 2010 according the Nielsen SoundScan. Both albums have been certified 7x Platinum by the RIAA. It was also #1 on the UK Albums Chart for a single week. The current lineup comprises lead vocalist Axl Rose, lead guitarists Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal and DJ Ashba, rhythm guitarist Richard Fortus, bassist Tommy Stinson, keyboardists Dizzy Reed and Chris Pitman and drummer Frank Ferrer. Guns N’ Roses’ mid-to-late 1980s and early 1990s years have been described by individuals in the music industry as the period in which “they brought forth a hedonistic rebelliousness and revived the punk attitude-driven hard rock scene, reminiscent of the early Rolling Stones.” Wikipedia®.

Guns N’ Roses – Yesterdays

Guns N’ Roses consisted of Axl Rose (on vocals), Slash (on guitar), Duff McKagen (on bass), Steve Adler (on drums) and Izzy Stradlin (on guitar) when they formed in June, 1985. In a just a few years, Guns N’ Roses became a multi-million heavy metal music force with a rough and gritty sound that broke through all the way to the pop charts. They got their name by combing 2 other band names, the “L.A. Guns” and the “Hollywood Roses,” which Rose and Stradlin had played with separately.

Guns N’ Roses – Yesterdays Lyrics:
Yesterday, there was so many things.
I was never told.
Now that I’m startin’ to learn.
I feel I’m growin’ old.

‘Cause yesterday’s got nothin’ for me.
Old pictures that I’ll always see.
Time just fades the pages.
In my book of memories.
Prayers in my pocket.
And no hand in destiny.
I’ll keep on movin’ along.
With no time to plant my feet.

‘Cause yesterday’s got nothin’ for me.
Old pictures that I’ll always see.
Some things could be better.
If we’d all just let them be.

Yesterday’s got nothin’ for me.
Yesterday’s got nothin’ for me.
Got nothin’ for me.

Yesterday there were so many things.
I was never shown.
Suddenly this time I found.
I’m on the streets and I’m all alone.

Yesterday’s got nothin’ for me.
Old pictures that I’ll always see.
I ain’t got time to reminisce old novelties.

Yesterday’s got nothin’ for me.
Yesterday’s got nothin’ for me.
Yesterday’s got nothin’ for me.
Yesterday.
