G-Eazy – Been On

G-Eazy has an agenda. For the last couple of years he’s been trying to finish school while building up a grassroots fan-base across the US. Schooled in the bay, tested in New Orleans, G isn’t a stranger to paying dues. His live shows have turned heads from the smallest of Midwest clubs all the way up to arenas on dates with Lil Wayne, Big Sean, and Drake, among others. Without label support G has trekked across the US on multiple tours breaking hearts with his James Dean meets hip-hop vibe and unforgettable live shows. It’s not hype. It’s not a hit. It’s not an image. It’s all of the above, the product of diligence that only a true fan understands; G reinterprets what he loves, not what everyone wants to hear, but in 2011 its looking like those two paths are starting to merge. G’s been a fixture on the local New Orleans rap scene for a few years and more recently in the music blogosphere, but in the last few months his popularity has surged and as his national profile has grown exponentially. His latest mixtape, The Endless Summer, produced Runaround Sue, who’s sun stroked throwback video garnered over 100,000 plays on Youtube in less than a week. But it all comes back to the live show, one New Orleans music blogger summed it up with, “the young crowd was reaching the levels of mass hysteria reserved for the 50s and 60s rock ‘n’ roll legends to whom G-Eazy has been paying so much homage…”

G-Eazy – Been On

G-Eazy – Been On Lyrics:
Yeah, rappers tryin to brag her ’bout accomplishments
But nothing you could drop it yeah astonishes
Next shit I’m about to say is obvious
But criticism is worth some more than compliments
Yeah yeah
We’re livin’ at a different speed, tryin’ to sprite the money
Should be starting out with just to see,
Always working every hander ’bout a ..
Rapping in arenas, I’m still playing in a different league,
Yeah, used to play different bar, dropping opportunities,
Some picking up for different car,
Yeah, holding out for bigger checks to live us all
Never kept it safe he let the catch ’cause even if I fall,
Rather risk it all and play it safe,
You’re like the sprinkle soul now clear hate,
My team can need our team shade
I head the block on block I swear you lay.

Hook:
Every day I got some fly shit on,
Keeping on black, I don’t fit on,
I already bag most the chicks that you rock and try to get on
You just catch up I’m to what I been on
Yeah that’s what I been on, (been on, been on)

I see what you’re tryin’ to do
That’s not even kind of new
That’s that shit I’ve been on,
Why these girls you see around I already took ‘em down?
That’s that shit I been on.
(Ohhh)
That’s that shit I been on.
(Ohhh)
That’s that shit I been on.

I’ve been thinking for the dough,
Thinking quick and making plans,
Yeah I’ve ben thinking sort too slow
You’ve been thinking more bitches
I’ve been thinking more dough
Shut all I do the shit,
But trust me I got more to show
Yeah yeah, I’m just getting started now
All that swerving spill my verb in
Brody that’s a party fow,
Rappers try to swear that cool
Really I’m not hardly pawl,
Black on black we’re here slick back,
Boy I got the hardest stow
And I’m always snatching chicks, flier than the latest whips
Haters on the sow I’m bitter, hell the f*ck am I this bitch?
Took your darling off your arm
Now he just want to be his daddys bitch
They can’t even find me when I’m chilling like my .. switch
Yeah, breaking rules we all been em
Dreaming ‘but these M’s so my team it’s all get ‘em
Making classic songs as long as I get ‘em
Every tracks a problem will I spit it off vin ‘em like .. yeah
