Freedonia consists of ten musicians that exude strength and feeling through a powerful rhythm section, and the compact metal voice of Maika Sitte who is able to transmit the purest emotions. Since its inception in 2006, Freedonia has investigated the various currents of Soul, sandwiching own songs with soul classics such as Etta James, Marvin Gaye, Jackie Wilson, Edwin Starr and Barbara Acklin, heading in that direction based on respect for the style, work and enthusiasm. After a lengthy tour of concert halls (Sun, Caracol, CBA) and festivals (Black is Back, Culture Restless), where the number of visitors and the success they have achieved have increased these values by developing their creativity to translate it into a first self-titled album with original compositions, financed through “crowdfunding” (collective financing through the network), and self-released in its entirety with the help of their faithful fan base and large audiences.
