“Come and gone” is a tale of an elusive love. Soaring melody lines contrast vividly with aggressive guitars and drums, eventually leading to a pinnacle build that ends with an agonizingly exposed final phrase: “I could feel that you were loving somebody else.” A single, potent lyric, ending the song in abrupt silence, leaving the listeners with space to process and to reflect.
