Eye Endless is the new project of Marcus Bowers, formerly of We Will Be Lions. After WWBL decided to part ways in the summer of 2015, Marcus asked members of his favorite San Francisco Bay Area bands to join him in recording an album together. They are Scott Brown on bass (Astronauts Etc. & Waterstrider), Geneva Harrison on drums (Bells Atlas), and Rob Shelton on organ/keys (DRMS & Meernaa). They recorded with Ian Pellicci at New, Improved Recording.
Bowers’ words: “Beautiful Mess is inspired by a conversation I had with a girl I met while on tour. I was smoking a cigarette in the parking lot and she pulled up next to me in her car. We met again that night after the band finished loading out. At one point she stopped and looked me in the eyes and said, “I think you could break my heart.” The feeling was mutual. We obviously weren’t very compatible, and we were complete strangers, but that night we were experiencing an intense, passionate response to each other. It was that moment of clarity, of understanding the risk, and mutually deciding that our connection and experience together was worth any emotional pain or scars it might cause each of us in the future, that first inspired the song.”
