“Another Way to Die” is a song by American heavy metal band Disturbed, released as the first single from their fifth studio album, Asylum. Airplay for the single began on the morning of June 14, 2010. That same day, a lyric video was posted by the band on their official YouTube channel and was released as a digital download on June 15, 2010 via iTunes. On August 31, 2010, an excerpt of the song played in a newly released second trailer for the 2011 Mortal Kombat game. Disturbed has released their first official music video for the song “Another way To Die” from their forthcoming album, Asylum, which is out on August 31st. Based on the video, I’d say David Draiman is a bit pissed off about the environment and wants to yell at us about it. The video shows the effects of global warming, pollution, oil spills and more as an alternate future flashes across the screen of what might become of us if we don’t start taking care of the planet. Guitarist Dan Donegan explained to Noisecreep that the song “is about the acknowledgment of global warming.” He added: “We took a different approach. We’ve done, what, 70-80 songs in our career? We don’t want to rehash old ideas. I was thinking of global warming issues. David (Draiman, vocals) already had the title and melody, and I made a suggestion to him about global warming. We’re not trying to be environmentalists, but maybe our choices in life and the ignorance of how we live is leading us to another way to die and effecting the food chain.” Songfacts®.
