Cappa: Indie pop that sounds like Broods collided with Taylor Swift on a dreamy day, infused with soothing electronics. Originally from outside of Philadelphia, 23 year old Carla Cappa was practically born writing melodies. No newbie to the music scene, she released her first album in 2009 where her single “I’m Not” won her 1st place in the USA Songwriting Competition. In 2013, her pop/dance single, “My Heart is Beating Again,” premiered on Sirius XM 20 on 20 alongside household names such as Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus.
“My Heart Is Beating Again” was also spotlighted in Buzzfeed’s article “30 songs you should be listening to.” Shortly after, she was featured as a background vocalist for Passion Pit’s live VEVO sessions. Now living in Nashville, TN, Carla Cappa has launched her new, long-awaited project “CAPPA.” She plans to release a series of singles before her official EP drop. When asked what she wanted people to feel when listening to her new songs, CAPPA states “ I want people to feel like they can escape everyday life.
I think that’s what we’re all looking for when we’re listening to music, and I hope that listeners can do that with mine.” Her catchy and evocative single “Hush” is set to release March 10th, with her most creative video to date releasing shortly after. CAPPA’s latest EP drops spring 2015.
