47 Ronin

47 Ronin” is an 2013 American fantasy-adventure-action film depicting a fictional account of the forty-seven Ronin, a real-life group of samurai in 18th-century Japan who avenge the murder of their master (known as a “chūshingura” in Japan). The American studio Universal Pictures is producing the adaptation. The film is directed by Carl Erik Rinsch and stars Keanu Reeves and an ensemble of Japanese actors. Filming started in Budapest in March 2011; it moved to Shepperton Studios in London and will conclude in Japan. The release date was initially moved from November 21, 2012 to February 8, 2013, then again to Christmas Day 2013. The outcast Kai (Reeves) joins a group of Ronin, led by Kuranosuke Oishi (Sanada), who seek vengeance on Lord Kira (Asano), who killed their master and banished the group. The Ronin embark on a journey whose challenges would defeat most warriors. Wikipedia®.

Keanu Reeves and an inverted Rinko Kikuchi are showcased alongside two samurai warriors in four character posters for 47 Ronin. Directed by Carl Rinsch, who made the short film The Gift that took Hollywood by storm three years ago, this 3D action-adventure follows an outcast (Keanu Reeves) who joins a band of samurai warriors to take back their homeland. With the debut of these one-sheets, a trailer can’t be too far off, so stay tuned for that.

Keanu Reeves makes an explosive return to action-adventure in 47 Ronin. After a treacherous warlord kills their master and banishes their kind, 47 leaderless samurai vow to seek vengeance and restore honor to their people. Driven from their homes and dispersed across the land, this band of Ronin must seek the help of Kai (Reeves)—a half-breed they once rejected—as they fight their way across a savage world of mythic beasts, shape-shifting witchcraft and wondrous terrors.
